Multiuser detection with decorrelating detector for asynchronous CDMA systems

Decorrelating detector is an excellent interference canceller in terms of performance and computational complexity, in the case that there are not so many users in a synchronous CDMA system. In an asynchronous system, however; it needs to increase computational complexity for reducing the influence of intersymbol interference. Then, performance degrades unless to increase computational complexity. This paper proposes the scheme to reduce the influence of intersymbol interference without increasing the computational complexity of decorrelating detector; and evaluates the availability of the scheme by computer simulations. Simulation results show that the performance is obtained even in an asynchronous system in the case of the same computational complexity as that of a synchronous system.
