The recent Internet spread is changing the existing trade system. In the initial stage of the e-commerce system, business-to-business (B-to-B) commerce has prevailed, but in recent years, personal commerce (B-to-C) is more active. The advantages of e-commerce are, among others, a plenty of goods for global trade, release from limited hours of trade and simple, quick settlement. The Mitaka Internet Shopping Mall "Mitaka-mall" is a unique trial of e-commerce that is intended to activate the local community and develop the Mitaka shopping district by using Internet. This report describes the configuration, functions and contents of the Mitaka shopping mall "Mitaka-mall" system under development.
