Features of bee-pollinated cucumber hybrids under winter-spring cultivation.

Recommendations are made for cultivating (1) female hybrids with from 4-5 to 8-11 male nodes on the main stem depending on temperature and light regime, (2) female hybrids with a low percentage of male flowers (3-4 to 5-7 male nodes per main stem) and (3) all-female hybrids, under cover over the winter-spring period in Russia. All 3 types of hybrid require pollenizer hybrids such as Gladiator, Hercules or Gornostai. Particular regard is given to temperature regimes for optimum female flower production and fruiting.
