Craniometric variability of the sable Martes zibellina (Carnivora, Mustelidae) related to reacclimatization

Variability of morphological characters (skull size and fur color) in Baikal sables in the course of reacclimatization process was studied using methods of multidimensional statistics. General and specific features of acclimatization are found. This process is accompanied by increasing animal sizes, slight brightening of fur color. Trends of morphological changes in reacclimants coincide with ways of phylogenesis of the sable as a species.
