Mining is everywhere -- the future of German mining in industrial society and in society geared to the services sector

Mining is a high-tech industry offering great future potential. The author argues that what applied back in the pre-industrial age and what made industrialization possible in the first place also applies in the service-oriented and knowledge-based society of today and tomorrow, namely that through its output performance mining creates sustained economic and social value.
