Emergency alarm system for home-based care support system

An emergency alarm system "House Carephone" has been developed that is designed mainly for use by the elderly or disabled individuals receiving care at home. This system consists of the (I) House Carephone installed at such individuals home to transmit emergency alarms; (2) Line Unit installed at the receiving end of such alarms; and (3) House Carephone Center Unit connected to the Line Unit. When the Line Unit installed at a fire station or a commercially operated emergency center receives the alarm signal from the House Carephone through an analog telephone line network, it transmits the customer identification code, type of emergency and other details to the computer terminal of the House Carephone Center Unit. Also, two-way verbal communication between the receiver and the sender of the signal is made possible. A separate short-range wireless transmitter, Carephone Switch, enables the user to send an emergency alarm even if such person is away from the House Carephone. When the House Carephone Center Unit receives the identification code of the alarm signal, the computer terminal displays the name, address and other particulars of the sender of the signal on the screen. To provide effective signal transmission from the short-range wireless mode of the Carephone Switch, a waveband not normally used in the vicinity of the ordinary households is used. This system uses a crystal filter that is specially developed to have excellent interference attenuation, little insertion loss and the small size fitting to the parts mounting, so that it realizes high reliability of the transmission.
