Turloop CS is a new control system by Siemens Energy Service for industrial steam turbines, based on verified standard components to provide safety, reliability, flexibility and user-friendliness. The company's existing Turloop automation system was developed 15 years ago and has been installed in approximately 400 new projects as well as retrofit jobs of industrial turbines. Siemens Energy Service said the Turloop CS was developed as a compact budget variant and is expected to be launched in early 2010. The Turloop CS system platform is based on Simatic S7 standard components, allowing flexible use for industrial steam turbines including extraction turbines with up to two controlled bleeders - irrespective of whether these are used as generator, compressor or pump drives.
