摘要

The challenge is on to deliver 4200 extra health visitors by 2015, and Unite/CPHVA is working to help find ways to meet this. Following the publication of the health visiting implementation plan, proposals to widen the use of alternative routes and training pathways into the profession are being considered, while return-to-practice pilots have had positive feedback from students. Unite/CPHVA supports the use of flexible training, but has raised concerns over routes that could be unclear or unsafe.Unite/CPHVA lead professional officer Obi Amadi stresses: 'We as an organisation are committed to supporting and delivering the numbers because we want health visiting to grow, but we need to speak out where pathways are not safe.'
