A study on secure access control method using biometric person authentication

摘要

Biometric person authentication using error-correcting codes in order to improve the reliability of authentication results is proposed in this paper. The proposed method can be applied to multimodal biometrics where more than two kinds of biometric parameters are treated in an authentication procces. The method using systematic codes can authenticate a person correctly in case that part of inputted biometric information is slightly different from registered one. Another method utilizing nonsystematic codes can hide biometric information from an authentication system.
