A Methodology to Build Evaluation System for Agricultural Sustainability

The meaning of agricultural sustainability and its evaluation methods are not established so far. Subsequently various confusions observed especially in the international discussion on the sustainability in agriculture. Then, we planned to establish acommon evaluation system for agricultural sustainability which is available to solve such confusions. The methodology to comprehend necessary system characteristics of such common evaluation system was grasped as the process as shown in Fig.l. It has been realized from trial and error practices on the sustainability definition keywords (KWs) and evaluation attributes (EAs) extracted from related articles of all 58 back numbers of American Journal of Alternative Agriculture (AJAA) by the method following Acharya et al, 2000.
