Producers prices to stay at current level

An extremely slow recovery of construction industry restrained the growth ofUkrainian coated product market in early Q2. In May, producers did not reviseprices amid excessive supply.The share of domestic products in the apparent consumption is low, so traders.prices depend much on import offers. In April, Ukraine imported some37,000t of coated products, some 77% of the market capacity. The productswere traditionally supplied by Russia and Kazakhstan. In May, the leadingsuppliers left the prices unchanged at the level of April. In June, though,Severstal seeks an 11% price increase. Other Russian suppliers are likely tofollow.
