摘要

The face and neck have recently been identified as areas of the body in which modifications to the design of protection as well as the incorporation of newer materials could potentially mitigate the incidence of combat injury [1, 2]. The use of Combat Eye Protection (CEP) has grown in acceptance and is now considered standard equipment for the deployed serviceman in addition to the ballistic vest and combat helmet. Little agreement however occurs regarding helmet coverage and methods of protecting the remaining uncovered face and neck.
