Eventration of diaphragm mimicking hydropneumothorax.

She was moderately built, moderately nourished but anaemic. Movements were restricted on left side of the chest with invisibility of apex beat. On percussion, cardiac dullness was obliterated and note was tympanitic in the 3rd intercostal space on left side. On auscultation breath sounds were audible in the left infraclavicular, axillary and suprascapular areas but absent in the mammary, inframammary, infra-axillary and infrascapular areas. Bowel sounds could be heard in the left mammary area. No succussion splash was present. On right side findings were normal.
