摘要

In this paper, we analyzed the tuning characteristics of a widely tunable sampled grating dis-tributed feedback (SGDFB) laser diode integrated with sampled grating distributed Bragg reflector(SGDBR). The improved time-domain model is used to analyze the laser diode. From the numericalanalysis, the length of the phase control region in the SGDFB section has an influence on the outputpower and the tuning range. Also, the tuning range is observed to be affected by the length of thelaser diode, the residual reflectivity at the facet and the position of the facet.
