Particle detectors used for detecting high energy particles or radiation need frequent calibration of their performance. Usually this is achieved by recording pulse height distribution of these detectors and noting the specific positions of these peaks. However such methods need expensive pulse height analyzers. We report here a simple pulse height analyzing system comprising a Digital Storage Oscilloscope (D.S.O.) and associated hardware/software that has been used for calibrating particle detectors.
