For flow investigations on centrifugal fans, the instrumentation has been made. Plate orifice has been used to measure the flow through the duct. The plate orifice is the simplest and can be easily inserted into an exising pipe line with a minimum of alteration to the layout and can be used to measure the discharge coefficient more accurately. The flow rate has been found by measuring the static pressure drop across the pressure tapings. The flow rate calculations have been discussed in detail in this paper. Layout of instrumentation has also been discussed in detail.
