A convenient synthetic route to hybrid cyclopentadienyl-phosphine complexes is demonstrated by the high yield synthesis of the complex [RhCl{#eta#~5,#eta#~1,#eta#~1-C_5Me_4CH_2C_6F_4P(C_6F_5)C_6H_4SMe]][BF_4].
