Physicians invest countless hours and many dollars pursuing board certification (and now recertifica-tion) but frequently don't hold their nonclinical staff members to the same high certification standard. Board certification for radiology coders has now been available for several years and should be carefully considered as a method of validating the quality of a practice's billing operations.
