For over forty years, Stephen Levine has been a therapist, researcher, and writer. His book offers a culmination of personal and professional experience with the semantics, expressions, and practice of love. One of Levine's main goals is to incite therapists to consider how the complex meanings of love affect the therapeutic process. He provides an examination of "the nouns and verbs of love" to provide a springboard for discussions with both students and clients. The author also wants us to expand our thinking about the development and maintenance of sexual problems and dysfunctions, rather than merely relying on nosology. To be able to access the wisdom of a seasoned practitioner is exciting and many parts of the eight chapters in this book deliver on Levine's goals.
