摘要

Premnazole, an isoxazole derivative of Premna integrifolia was supplied as food to the 1st day 1st inslar silkworm of Bombyx mori L. race Nistari through mulberry leaves at a dose level of 100 ppm. It is observed that the aforesaid isoxazole alkaloidcompound inhibits gene functions of larval fat body and gonads of 5tj day of 5th instar female larvae. The alkaloid treated fat body tissues of silkworm larvae exhibited only 67kDa, 63 kDa and 54 kDa proteins instead of 83 kDa. 78 kDa, 74 kDa, 68 kDA, 60kDa, 58 KDa. 50 kDa and 45 kl)a proteins of its control counterpart. On the contrary, the schedule component of premmizole treated female larval gonads of the same age group revealed only 68 kl)a protein in comparison to 68 kDa, 58 kDa. and 45 kDa proteins of the control groups. From the above study the authors contemplate to propose that Premnazole has profound influence in inhibiting gene functioning by altering the molecular mechanism relating to vitellogenin synthesis thereby suppressing the gonadal maturing protein cascade in female silkworm larvae. Thus, the inseclicidal efficacy of Premnazole could be tested in facilitating the phenomenal stride in Integrated Pest Management.
