EFFECT OF THE SOIL HERBICIDE DICHLOBENIL (CASORON 6, 7 G) ON THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF SAMODIVA CV. RASPBERRIES GROWN UNDER DRIP IRRIGATION CONDITIONS

The study was carried out in 2004 -2006 in a fruiting raspberry plantation of Samodiva cv. on the territory of the Fruit-Growing Institute - Plovdiv. Subject of investigation was the effect of three different rates of the soil herbicide dichlobenil (Casoron 6, 7 G - 5, 6 and 7 kg/da) on the vegetative habits and the yield of Samodiva cv. raspberry plants grown under drip irrigation conditions. Along each row a single irrigation lateral was installed, with dripper spacing of 30 cm and a capacity of 1.7 l/h (5.7 L/h/m). The irrigation regime was calculated based on 80 % evaporation of Class A evaporation pan. There were no external symptoms of phytotoxicity observed after treatment with dichlobenil at the studied rates. The applied rates of dichlobenil caused neither a suppression of the vegetative habits of the raspberry plants, nor a decrease of the yield and the mean fruit weight. Under drip irrigation conditions Casoron 6, 7 G at rates of 6 - 7 kg/da can be applied for control of the weed vegetation.
