Pre-characterized nickel zinc ferrites (Ni_(1-x)Zn_xFe-2O_4) prepared by ceramic techniques were incorporated into a butyl rubber matrix according to a specific recipe to yield rubber ferrite composites (RFCs). The dielectric constants of ceramic Ni_(1-x)Zn_xFe_2O_4 and the butyl rubber composites incorporated with Ni_(1-x)Zn_xFe_2O_4 were studied as a function of frequency, composition, loading and temperature. The results suggest that the magnetic and dielectric properties of RFCs can be manipulated by appropriate loading and a judicious choice of the magnetic filter.
