Sizewell B gets 10 more years

Edf ENERGY'S sizewell B nuclear power station, the UK's only working pressurised water reactor (PWR) station, has received the necessary regulatory approvals to continue operating for another 10 years. The Office for Nuclear Regulation confirmed on February 3rd that Sizewell B, which delivers power to over 2m customers, had met its safety case to continue delivering power until 2025. The station is already working on the safety case for the next 10 years beyond this. The UK's nuclear power stations have to renew their licence to operate every 10 years.
