Bilateral ovarian vein thromboses in a postmenopausal woman with uterine prolapse.

Ovarian vein thromboses are relatively rare events that can result in pelvic pain and discomfort. Most reported cases are associated with either pregnancy or malignancy [1,2].A 6 8-year-old patient presented with symptomatic uterine prolapse. She had a relatively isolated apical defect without anterior or posterior compartment issues. She had been menopausal for approximately 15 years and did not take hormones. She was a nonsmoker and had no history to suggest a tendency of predisposition to blood clots or thromboses.
