"During the past few years, Phytophthora capsici has spread beyond the tra-ditional vegetable production areas of Texas," observes Dr. Ronald D. French-Monar, assistant professor and extension plant pathologist with Texas AgriLife Extension Service-Texas A&M System. Unfortunately, specialists all over the country and throughout the globe are seeing crop damage due to the devastation caused by P. capsici. In many areas, peppers are particularly vulnerable.
