Recession, regulations batter coal-fired power growth: Survey

Coal-fired power continues to have its supporters, according to a just-released Black & Veatch survey, but the recession and regulations have ratcheted down growth expectations. B&V, an engineering, construction and consulting company heavily involved in the electric utility industry, released on February 18 its fourth annual survey of US electric power industry leaders. The survey results “showed reliability of the electric grid, regulatory issues and long-term investment as overall top concerns.”
