Mercuria Energy buys Colombian river barge firm

Switzerland-based trading house Mercuria Energy said last week that it has acquired a Colombian river barge business to transport coal and other commodities along the Magdalena River. The barging business was bought from Colombian cement producer Argos, which describes itself on its website as “the largest transporter of land cargo” in the country.
