As the 113th Congress gets under way and the third anniversary of the deadliest mine accident in 40 years approaches, lawmakers are expected to reintroduce mine safety legislation that languished in the previous session. “One of the first bills I plan to introduce in this new Congress is my mine safety bill, which I'm continuing to strongly push for,” Senator Jay Rockefeller, Democrat-West Virginia, said in a statement Wednesday.
