Fatty kidney diagnosed by mortem computed tomography

摘要

Subnuclear vacuolization of the renal tubular epithelium is indicative of diabetic and alcoholic ketoaci-dosis and has also been proposed as a postmortem marker for hypothermia. We present for the first time a fatal case of ketoacidosis in combination with exposure where a suspicion of these diagnoses was raised by a marked radiolucency of the kidneys at post-mortem computed tomography (PMCT).
