Studies into biocontrol technology and development of genetic control technology for plant diseases

摘要

In our laboratory, members have teamed up with some research institutes in two studies developing effective and sustainable control methods of plant diseases with the aim of reducing environmental loads. One study involves the search for microorganismagents useful in promoting the practical application of biocontrol, and the development of recombined agents with applicable and useful traits. The other study aims to develop succesive resistant cultivars by means of genetic engineering, which producenovel breeding materials, and analyzes the molecular mechanisms that have exhibited its resistance. This article describes the major results of these studies.
