CSN (Brazil) cuts iron ore shipments in Q1

Brazilian company Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) cut shipments of iron ore to 6.7 mt in Q1 (-17% compared to Q4 2011), which is due to heavy rainfalls in the south-eastern part of the country. Exports totalled 6.5 mt, incl. 3.7 mt shipped from Namisa mine. In January-March the company used 1.5 mt of the material for its own steel production.
