The Far Eastern scrap market keeps seeing no export contracts; still, exporters are pushing prices up. Nominal prices for Japanese HMS 2 have moved to JPY 36,500-37,500/t ($366-376/t, $1 = JPY 99.65) FOB early this week, up JPY 500/t ($5/t) on previous levels; yen devaluation has mitigated the increase in dollar prices. The above grade changed hands at JPY 35,500-35,900/t ($356-360/t) FOB in the latest deals made with the South Korean steelmaker Hyundai Steel.
