Domestic plate prices rising in USA

The increase in plate prices is gaining momentum in the USA amid the gradual revival in end-users’ activity and growing scrap prices in March ($35-40/t up month-on-month). Nucor, SSAB Americas and JSW Steel have lifted their offers again by $33/t ($30/short ton) as compared to booking prices in early March. As a result, their offers have added $66/t ($60/short ton) month-on-month in total, which corresponds to the size of the increase announced by ArcelorMittal USA two weeks ago. New prices will be effective in the contracts for shipment after April 1.
