Abbas Steel Group (Pakistan) expands steelmaking capacities

Pakistan’s Abbas Steel Group has almost ramped up electric steelmaking complex No.1 (96,000 t) to 100% capacity. The shop has been in production since December 2012. It was launched as a more reliable and cost-effective source of semis to feed the company’s rolling mills (250,000 tpy in total), a representative of the plant says. The equipment was supplied by China’s SinoSteel Corporation.
