What's missing from our knowledge and information regarding upholstered furniture? In the U.S. and possibly Canada, there is a dearth of information available on product or point of sale specifications and cleaning literature to accompany any purchase of upholstered furniture. Regrettably, this applies to both textile and leather covered upholstery. How do you know whether the covering is silk, rayon, mercerized cotton, fine linen (flax), nylon, polyester, acetate fabric; or their blends? It could be any of these.
