An Oklahoma approach to healthcare improvement: leveraging technology and innovative partnerships to reduce costs and improve care quality.

The Comprehensive Primary Care (CPC) initiative is a multi-payer program fostering collaboration between public and private insurers to strengthen primary care. Northeast Oklahoma is one of seven regions in the country selected for the initiative that aims to reward doctors for building Patient Centered Medical Homes that meet a common set of service requirements and make use of advanced healthcare IT. Oklahoma PCP's selected to participate in CPCi are receiving more than $25M in funds for care management and practice transformation. In addition participating PCPs are eligible to receive a portion of any savings they generate— currently without the usual downside risk that accompanies Accountable Care Organization contracts.
