Normally at big biofuel industry gatherings, renewable jet fuel for aviation has hovered in the shadows as the poor cousin to road transport. But there was a marked change at the recent World Bio Markets conference in Amsterdam, with a new buzz around a sector that is demonstrating tangible progress. One year ago the widespread adoption of biojet seemed a distant prospect, but it appears more plausible now. Efforts are underway to chip away at big cost hurdles from all sides of the industry, amid a strong desire from the ground up and top down to get this business going (JFI Mar.25’13).
