Morphofunctional principles determining the changes in the adaptation strategy of ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) during its domestication.

Studies were conducted to determine the factors determining the changes in Panax ginseng adaptation strategy during its domestication. Wild ginseng (25-35 years old) and 4-6 years old generative plants on plantations in the Primorye Region (Russia) were collected and the morphological, mesostructural and cytogenetic characteristics were determined. The ginsenoside content was measured and the expression levels of various genes were determined by real time PCR.
