Active front end: SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES drive system with intelligent rectifier-regenerative feedback units

The SIMOVERT MASTER-DRIVES drive system consists of high-performance modular components which can be individually combined for various applications. Two of these components are used for regenerative feedback: One is the line-commutatedrectifier-regenerative feedback unit. It comprises two 6-pulse thyristor bridges connected in an anti-parallel configuration, including autotransformer . The other is the Active Front End (AFE), a self-commutated, pulsed rectifier-regenerative feedbackunit. It comprises an intelligent converter with IGBT modules and Clean Power filter.
