摘要

Recently, the theory of elasticity with surface stresses [1] was developed for nanomechanical prob lems. Within this theory, the surface stresses τ act on the body boundary or its portion alongside with the stress tensor σ defined in its volume V and on its sur face Ω. The tensor τ generalizes the scalar surface ten sion known in hydromechanics in the case of solids. The introduction of surface stresses makes it possible to describe, in particular, the size effect characteristic for nanomaterials.
