SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE EARTH RESOURCE INDUSTRIES

The earth resources industries underpin the Victorian economy and have a far-reaching impact on the daily lives of all Victorians. They provide thousands of jobs across the State and contribute, directly and indirectly, 8.4 billion dollars each year to the State economy. To ensure we continue to enjoy these benefits and maximise potential for development for all Victorians, industry needs to ensure new projects are sustainable. That is, that they are economically viable, create real community benefits and protect the environment. This is the Win-Win-Win philosophy the Bracks Government has adopted through Growing Victoria Together.
