'Applied Science' Papers presented exclusively for You Easy Opening of Canned Fruit -Target Group Tests in accordance with CEN/TS 15945 to the Handling of different Canned Fruits

摘要

In this target group study 20 randomly recruited persons aged between 65 and 80 have tested the handling of two pineapple cans and reviewed their manageability. Both types of cans have identic dimensions and opening principles, but only one type of the cans provides opening instructions printed on the upper lid. This study shows that these instructions improve neither the ease of opening nor the customers' satisfaction. Therefore, opening instructions for well know packaging principles are not mandatory and can be removed without compromising the opening process.
