Ukraine to reconsider projects of switching anthracite-fired TPP s to gas coal burning

Ukraine is reconsidering a possibility of switching thermal power plants to consumption of coalranks other than those specified by facilities’ design. Kharkiv region-based Zmiivska TPP, a part of DTEKCentrenergo, plans to re-equip two power-generating units for burning G coal instead of anthracite andlean coal. The works are to be done by the start of the 2016?2017 heating season. Currently, the projectis under negotiation, and no particular decisions have been made yet, according to Metal Expert’s data.Centrenergo representatives say that given required financial backing, the project is quite likely to becompleted on time.
