摘要

The Late Cretaceous Artvin Volcanic Complex forms the eastern end of the Eastern Pontide Volcanic Belt, an ensailic, island-arc-type belt. A major feature of the Artvin Volcanic Complex is the Artvin Cauldron, a resurgent-type felsic cauldron. The recognition of the north-south-trending Cerattepe ore trend provides an important genetic link between the Cerattepe deposit, sub-economic porphyry Cu-Au mineralization hosted by the Fistikli sub-volcanic pluton, and other mineralization, such as the Sinkot volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit. VMS mineralization formed during the late tumescent, the late resurgent, and the moat-and-ring-fracture stages of caldera development.
