[Cu_(40)Se_(16)(S-C_6H_4-CN) _8(dppm)_8]: A disc-like copper cluster with a nitrile-functionalized ligand shell

摘要

The new copper chalcogenide cluster [Cu_(40)Se_(16)(S-C_6H_4-CN) _8(dppm)_8] (1) with nitrile groups in the organic ligand shell has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and IR spectroscopy. The arrangement of the chalcogen atoms in 1 is similar to a close packing and is best described as two parallel layers with an ab stacking sequence. The resulting structure is a rare example of a disc-like cluster molecule.
