摘要

Simulation is playing an increasingly important role in the planning of manufacturing systems. To improve its precision and to reduce deviations between reality and simulation to a minimum, various projects on "Realistic Robot Simulation (RRS)" were carried out. In these projects, standards and methods were developed to precisely and efficiently simulate the control of components of manufacturing systems. Based on this, planning tools have been developed which serve to analyze, evaluate and optimize manufacturing systems. In addition, tools for programming manufacturing systems and for testing the user programs have been developed. The strategic development of RRS is aimed at maximizing planning accuracy and optimizing system layouts by realizing parallel work in systems planning. Objectives also include a decrease in time-to-market and a quick pay-off of investment in product development and manufacturing systems development. While the first RRS projects were concentrated on robot control, the current development of simulation and programming technology is also focused on other control systems as well as sensors and processes.
