Biography of Prof. Dr. Hans-Heinrich Limbach

On March 15~(th) our friend and colleague Prof. Dr. Hans-Heinrich Limbach celebrated his 70~(th) birthday. To honor this anniversary we are looking back on some of the scientific and non-scientific achievements of Hans-Heinrich. Hans-Heinrich Limbach was born into a teacher's family in 1943 in Briihl, a small town close to Cologne, the center of the Rhineland with its traditional liberal culture and climate. The combination of this liberal culture with his secondary education in the humanist grammar school probably set the foundation of his broad fields of interest in science and education.
