The Late Pleistocene-Holocene tectonic deformations in the Tunka system of basins (Baikal rift, Siberia) have been found and studied as a result of remotely sensed geomorphological and field palcoseismogeologlical analysis. This analysis showed that transtension re,line of deformation that had existed in the southwestern part of the Baikal rift zone since the Miocene changed to the transpression with the north-northeastern compression axis in the Late Pleistocene-Holocene. Reverse faults have been found and dated in the Mondy basin - the age of paleoearthquake is 530 +/- 30 years ago (GIN 11321). The kinematics of the western segment of the Baikal-Mondy fault appeared as the left-lateral reverse slip since the Late Pleistocene-Holocene.
