WCA infoNET - concept and state of development of an Internet-based information system on water conservation and use in agriculture

Despite the electronic revolution which has impressively changed our daily life and communication, means of information retrieval and processing in the irrigation and drainage sector have barely been able to keep up with this pace and in many ways have stayed more traditional. WCA infoNET is an Internet-based information and knowledge system which is being developed to assist professionals from different backgrounds in the retrieval of information related to water conservation and use in agriculture. The basic concepts behind WCA infoNET are described, giving an overview on information structure and supply as well as user access and the editorial system.
