Clean fuels:What are the issues?

The refining industry is shifting operations on a global basis to produce the cleanest fuel mix in history.Many projects are at various stages of engineering,planning,design,construction and commissioning.In the US alone approximately 60 desulfurization projects to process ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) are underway as the June 2006 deadline looms closer.Likewise,much effort and resources are being directed to process ultra-low-sulfur gasoline (ULSG).
